Joe A. Hollingsworth, Jr. is the CEO and owner of The Hollingsworth Companies. The Hollingsworth Companies is a collection of varied businesses crowned by the Industrial Building Program. With over 44 years of property development experience, Joe has a history of breaking down the road blocks that often prevent others from achieving their business goals. Joe served as Vice-Chair with Governor Don Sundquist on the Tennessee Board for Economic Growth, which developed the first long-term economic development strategy in Tennessee’s history. He has documented the rise of the South as the world’s fourth largest economy in his book The Southern Advantage. This history parallels the growth of The Hollingsworth Companies Industrial Building Program from developing single lot properties in East Tennessee to the creation of large dedicated industrial parks in Alabama, North Carolina, and Virginia. With the addition of Hollingsworth Capital Partners and the Southern Advantage Community preparedness program, the Hollingsworth footprint of industrial facilities spreads into 14 states and 41 communities.
Tom Wortham joined the Hollingsworth Companies team in 2001 and serves as Senior Vice President of Architecture and Business Development. Tom brings over 25 years experience in the construction industry to your service. He has been involved in all types of buildings across the United States and promises to deliver our customers the highest quality buildings at the very best prices. Tom has extensive project management experience with projects up to $30 million. From heavy industrial work for TVA, to  privately controlled barge-handling facilities, and unique manufacturing or technical logistics warehouses, Tom has a proven record of on-time, on-budget performance. Tom earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Tennessee and has been licensed to practice architecture in Tennessee since 1991. Tom has worked for contractors and developers throughout his career and has been a licensed real estate broker. Tom currently holds a general contractor license in AL, GA, MS, NC, SC, TN, and VA.
Chip Sisk serves as the Industrial Real Estate Director for the strategically located SouthPoint Business Parks in North Carolina and Virginia. As a 1981 Economics graduate of Washington and Lee University, Chip has over 30 years of combined banking, industrial construction, and development experience. He has worked on logistics and manufacturing projects for privately held businesses, Fortune 500 companies, and the United States military. In addition, Chip has served as a United Way Division Chairman, as Volunteer Chairman for the Southern Piedmont Area of Special Olympics, and on the Board of Hinds’ Feet Farm. Chip’s close work with economic development organizations is well suited for clients wanting to grow in welcoming communities with strong labor, infrastructure, and transportation assets.
Rick Meredith joined The Hollingsworth Companies in 2010 as Senior Vice President for Community Development. Rick has extensive experience in economic and community development, and knowledge of both state and local planning and program management. He attended the University of Tennessee Institute for Public Service, and is a Certified Public Administrator. Meredith formerly served in Gov. Phil Bredesen’s administration as Assistant Commissioner of the Community Development Division for the Tennessee Department of Economic Community Development where he oversaw the Main Street Program, Energy Policy, Local Planning, Grants and Loans, and the nationally recognized Governor’s Three-Star Program. He served as President of the County Officials Association of Tennessee and is a recipient of the Robert E. Gonia Regional Leadership award for community leadership. In addition, Rick served on the board of directors for the Anderson County Chamber of Commerce and The United Way of Anderson County. As a commissioner of Anderson County government, Rick is putting his extensive community development experience to work managing The Hollingsworth Companies Southern Advantage community preparedness, marketing, and building delivery program.
Danny Conder is the Director of Construction Services for The Hollingsworth Companies. Danny brings over 25 years of Industrial and Commercial Facility Management and Project Management to the table. He is a licensed contractor who holds an associate degree in Science, a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, and has also completed both welding, and tool and dye design school. Danny is detail driven and ensures that every specification for each project is met with the uttermost precision and handled with professionalism. Danny’s intimate knowledge of industrial and commercial construction makes him the ideal candidate to get your project up and running while still delivering on time and on budget.
Timothy Lennon serves as Chief Financial Officer. He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Tim has over 25 years of experience in real estate development, including site acquisition, construction management, project financing, and operations management. Tim ensures that The Hollingsworth Companies stays financially strong to serve our industrial clients with fast and flexible solutions.
Amanda Hensley has been with the Hollingsworth Companies since 2000 and serves as the Internal Operations Manager. Amanda holds a B.S. in Business Administration and oversees all day to day operations for The Hollingsworth Companies Industrial Building Program, SouthPoint Business Parks, and Southern Advantage Communities. A few of her duties include property management, customer/contractor relations, overseeing and tracking project budgets and draw applications, and accounts payable among many other duties to keep our business running efficiently. Amanda’s dedication and loyalty to the success of The Hollingsworth Companies makes her an indispensable part of our business.
Brenda Bice has been with the company since 1983 and is responsible for closings, title work, insurance placement, facility documentation, and related professional services management for the Industrial Building Program. Paula McQueen serves as the Executive Assistant to Joe Hollingsworth since 2007 and provides direct support for Mr. Hollingsworth with the day to day operations of all corporate entities. A few duties include prospect/client relations, contact expediting, and managing all marketing efforts for all companies under the corporate umbrella. Paula is a graduate of the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and holds a B.S. Degree in Business Administration as well as an A.S. Degree in Business. She has over 15 years of property management, real estate, and marketing experience.
