Our Story

The Hollingsworth Companies was founded in 1972 by Joe Hollingsworth Jr. with a vision to provide high-quality industrial real estate solutions to businesses across the southeastern United States. What began as a small family business has grown into one of the largest industrial real estate development and construction companies in the Southeast.

John Bainer

VP of Industrial Real Estate

John Bainer joined The Hollingsworth Companies in 2024 as VP of Industrial Real Estate, bringing over 15 years of experience in leasing, development, and strategic advisory. Previously with Realty Trust Group and Stream Realty Partners, John has extensive background in portfolio management and transaction services. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and a Master of Science in Real Estate from the University of San Diego.

Jamie Burns

Corporate Counsel and Senior Property Manager

Jamie Burns joined The Hollingsworth Companies as Senior Property Manager in 2014 and added the title of Corporate Counsel in 2015 after receiving her license to practice law in Tennessee. She manages closings, lender coordination, title work, insurance placement, facility and legal documentation for the Industrial Building Program, and local commercial and apartment management. With over 20 years of real estate and transactional experience, Jamie holds a BS in Criminal Justice from Pfeiffer University and a JD from Lincoln Memorial University.

Amanda Fritts

Amanda Fritts

Internal Operations Manager

Amanda Fritts has been with The Hollingsworth Companies since 2000 and serves as the Internal Operations Manager. Amanda holds a B.S. in Business Administration and oversees all day to day operations for The Hollingsworth Companies Industrial Building Program, SouthPoint Business Parks, and Southern Advantage Communities. Her duties include property management, customer/contractor relations, overseeing project budgets and draw applications, and aiding in accounts payable. Amanda's dedication and loyalty makes her an indispensable part of the business.

JD King

JD King

Director of Construction

JD King joined The Hollingsworth Companies in 2014 as Director of Construction, bringing experience in Residential, Commercial and Industrial Construction. After completing his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Tennessee in 2003, he worked as a Project Manager and Estimator with Joseph Construction. JD has managed multimillion-dollar construction projects for industrial clients in complex heavy manufacturing, light manufacturing, logistics, and warehousing, as well as commercial projects including office, hotel/motel, medical, and entertainment facilities.

Paula McQueen

Executive Assistant to Joe A. Hollingsworth, Jr.

Paula McQueen has served as the Executive Assistant to Joe Hollingsworth since 2007, bringing over 25 years of property management, real estate, marketing, and business experience. She provides direct support for day-to-day operations of all corporate entities, overseeing client relations, managing corporate service agreements, marketing programs, and special projects. Paula holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee and an A.S. Degree from Pellissippi State Community College.

Dan Piper joined The Hollingsworth Companies in 2015 as Chief Financial Officer. With a B.S. and Masters in Accounting from the University of Georgia, Dan brings extensive experience in public accounting and private industry with a focus on real estate and manufacturing. A licensed CPA in Tennessee, Dan maintains a strong focus on process improvement and cost control across all operations.

Tom Wortham

Senior Vice President of Architecture and Business Development

Tom Wortham joined The Hollingsworth Companies in 2001 and brings decades of construction industry experience. With a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Tennessee and licenses as both an architect and general contractor in multiple states, Tom manages projects up to $30 million with a proven record of on-time, on-budget performance.

First Industrial Park
